I think tlhe figures for their first summer LPL-GCI were pretty good, they were already loaded into the system for this summer so they must have been content enough.
They have cut GCI to LPL and SEN their two new routes which is a pity for us.
The company I think owes money for loans.
Our other lost route to NQY is also a shame as it was increased last summer. I read that NQY to MAN is being increased, pity they couldnt think to divert one or two rotations to serve here.

Compared to some places. Liverpool got off lightly this time.
Problem for me and mine with the demise of Southampton/La Rochelle.
Question for the experts:-
What happens to the tax portion of the ticket price? Presumably as an agent of the state, Flybe took the money from me for my future flight, and presumably has not passed it on to treasury yet. Until the date of the flight it is not yet a debt to the government but becomes a debt to me which will never get repaid. I suppose it is very unlikely that these monies go into a separate ESCROW fund.

I guess someone will jump on to LPL-IOM, its the busiest IOM route, plus IOM government health contract.

Cant see Loganair moving in as they haven't so far shown interest in LPL even though they fly to a high number of UK airports.
They only one that may is Stobart.

Apparently, there is an announcement tomorrow on who will take over the Isle of Man service following FlyBe's demise. Flights could start as early as Monday.

IoM government has announced that there will now be no quick fix for the ex FlyBe routes from the island. It could now take a couple of weeks or more to get a new carrier.

The conspiracy theorist in me says there is alot more to flybe going bump... There are lots of interesting articles going around the Internet making fascinating reading... But the majority all state that funding promised by the new owners never really materialised and that their financial liabilities in all this were quite low.. I think the new owners knew the airline was doomed and that the outcome was always going to be the same (maybe why the rebrand never happened), perhaps not this quick but they were using this threat to manipulate the government regarding taxes and subsidies... I think what we will see now is virgin getting what they wanted with slots at Heathrow, stobart maybe becoming the main player domestically pushing more business through Southend. I also think we will see the end of some local airports sadly....
