I've read some outlandish comments and speculating on here, but that really takes the biscuit... or are you being sarcastic? !!! ;D
It is not a case that EZY have turned down Thomas Cook, but that Thomas Cook choose not to fly, directly or indirectly, from LPL.
I think EZY would absolutely bite the hands off both TOM and TCX if they were to get a block seat allocation proposal from either of them.

I don't think its a case of block bookings. Each flight is individually processed at the time of booking, it is Thomas Cook who wont book through LPL and it could be that the fares via LPL are too high as they're so popular. Post by LPL maybe right.

It could also be an experiment to monitor demand, who knows however as long as Liverpool is on there , it's still a person through the doors whoever they fly with.

Not strictly IT but Liverpool FC have confirmed some post and pre-season matches which might result in some additional movements at LJLA.
20th May flying out to Capetown for a post-season match, returning on 22nd May.
Late July they are off to Australia and Thailand, before Olympiacos come to Anfield on 3rd August.
There might be something in there for us.

::)Daniel Reilly (remember him) who now run's jetXtra.com has signed a deal with BA to use their Embraers out of Humberside next year to Alicante and Majorca. When asked by a local paper if he had plans to operate from his home city airport, his reply was "watch this space". I know that JLA are looking to attract more IT flights could there be something in the offing. hmmm.

There are plenty of totally unserved popular holiday destinations from LJLA including: Corfu, Crete, Dubrovnik, Gerona, Murcia, Pula, Split,Venice and Zante. Let us hope that somebody sees the potential and has a go.

A company which offers holidays from Liverpool and other Airports has gone bust according to bbc news, 13 February 2014
A travel agent specialising in holidays to the Channel Islands has gone out of business, the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) has confirmed.
About 144 tourists are thought to be on holiday with Preston Travel at the moment, including an unconfirmed number in the Channel Islands.
The Barnet-based company also provides travel to the Isle of Man, the Isle of Wight and the Isles of Scilly.
Preston Travel employs about 30 staff in the UK and overseas.
An ABTA spokesman said although Preston had ceased trading, those on holiday would have the rest of their stay and travel covered "to save them the inconvenience of claiming or paying again".
'Market leader' Sean Tipton said it was a sad time for Preston, for hotels, and for holidaymakers.
"They were a very important company for the Channel Islands, they have been going for nearly 50 years and were clearly the market leader," he said.
"In terms of forward business they had about 4,500 customers waiting to travel, not all to the islands, but they are all now cancelled."
Bill Dolan, chairman of Jersey based Dolan Hotels group, said it had been an important company to the local market.
He said: "It is far too early to know what any impact will be, but the hope is those customers with bookings will be able to re-book with another operator."
John de Vial from ABTA said those with a booking should contact them for more details on making a claim.
"ABTA will be arranging swift refunds for anyone who has booked a non-flight based package or accommodation-only booking," he said.

Pardon me for asking, totally innocent question I assure you, I know how sensitive these things are:-
Are either of the two Liverpool football clubs remaining in European adventures this year?

While both Clubs finished well into the upper half of the Premiership, neither of Liverpool's top teams qualified season 2012/13 for a European 'adventure' this winter ..... There are hopes, in both sets of supporters, that European aspirations can resume from the end of the current season. We will know in May In 2012/13 'our' clubs finished 6th and 7th, the top 5 qualified for European places, plus the two Cup winners from lower down the league, so we only just but frustratingly missed out on European football this season. For a summary of the 2012/13 Premiership League season, clubs and table there is always Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012–13_Premier_League. Actually it is quite an interesting summary of the whole season in text and informative comparative tables.

Thanks for the reply. Just goes to show how out of touch its possible to be. All those Caravelles flying into LJLA last night, must have just been a dream, or too much wine.

This will probably be a charter for the Liverpool v Chelsea game at Anfield which is currently scheduled for 3.00pm on Saturday 26th April 2014. No doubt this game will be moved for TV coverage nearer to the date due to both teams current league positions, probably be moved to Sunday 27th April at 4.00pm yet to be confirmed. Regards Les McS
