Sounds to me like she doesn't know or understand the north west market. The catchment area for both airports is virtually the same (15m in 1 hr driving distance of LPL, 16m for MAN according to the DfT). Some within the hierarchy of EZY clearly have an agenda which we will have to live with for the time being, even if in part any 'poor performance' has to relate to the airline's shift of focus away from the ordinary traveller to the business one and some bad decisions around route planning.

Correct. I have attended meetings were this woman and others from EZY have very clearly stated that the LPL routes are very profitable. There is an agenda going on.

There is a simple agenda. easyjet obviously think they whilst they made money at LPL, can make MORE money with the aircraft based elsewhere.......

Looks like nothing happening with Fuerteventura by EZY although LPL to FUE is listed on the FR site.

I know, the times I have been on they are at least 3/4 full, if not full (same with ryr). Reading the email "response" they are saying it's to do with aircraft distribution rather than lack of bums on seats. They really don't make sense sometimes, but on the booking page it is only bookable up to 1st June, then nothing.

You will probaly find the booking period beyond June is not fully loaded yet. Other flights of interest to me, such as Nantes/Lyon and La Rochelle/Bristol, for example, are not bookable beyond June 16th. Wait and see.

easyJet late summer flights out. Some of the return fares late August and early September are horrendous. For example, one Malaga to LPL flight was £330 one way!

Just proves that the sitaution they flagged up about profitable bases doesnt stand up to scrutiny.

Flights to other airports from Malaga at the end ofAugust , whilst very expensive for first day of sale, are much cheaper than Liverpool. One can only assume that the seats have all been pre sold (Thomas Cook?) or they are trying to price Liverpool out of the market

The fare from Malaga on 31 Aug with easyJet (today - 4 Oct) is : £362.99, with Monarch on the same day to Manchester is £176. I must admit the T Cook thing did spring to mind. These kind of fares would make BA, or any airline, interested in that route! Budget airline I don't think!
