Not too much on the aviation side to photograph but there was a fine rainbow. Time for Beemer to take another trip to Specsavers ;D Only pulling your leg Brian as I'm sure you will have noticed there were two. I was tempted to take a shot of them myself as they were arking over the hotel but as I only had my phone with me, thought better of it. Just a thought.........wonder how many pies two can weigh?

Superb photos Beemer. No wonder the rainbow was so bright. There were loads of rain showers about. Managed to dodge them though in G-BNNU.

Actually a second rainbow is a reflection in the sky of the "real" rainbow on the inside. If you look closely, you'll see the reflection is fainter and the colors are reversed.

Fantastic photos Brian.
There are always two rainbows, the second is not always as detectable to the human eye. You can clearly see Alexander's band in Beemer's third shot which is a dark band between the primary and secondary rainbows, all to do with with the refractive indices of water. Did a bit of this in A-level physics sad as it is........

Thanks for the kind comments, lads. ;D I have learned something new about rainbows to-day. I was hoping to get one of, maybe Thorpster flying across at the same time in his Pa-38. Regards Beemer.
