To clarify, it is LJLA management who say they are "still talking." They can talk all they want; whether the other sides' listening.....

I doubt we will see another Norwegian route, why waste money trying new destinations out if Copenhagen didn't work. However I do believe a gatwick route would work as London is not covered at liverpool. With manchester now not having a gatwick route either I think it could work.

it would not work going to gatwick the business community would not support it and the ordinary traveller might not use it because it would not be cheap everyone knows the history of the london routes however i do feel norwegian would be a success on holiday routes lets hope so

I really do hope I'm wrong. Would love to see them expand here. They just need to advertise advertise and advertise.

I doubt we will see another Norwegian route. You may be pleasanty surprised. You say that as in you know something. Maybe you do, but I would be VERY surprised, purely based on what I've been told recently, which was along the lines of 'They were trying but norwegian aren't interested any longer...'

Perhaps what you've been told is more recent than what I've been told. That would be a pity, as the route I was told about would have got my business at least twice a year.

Its worth noting that this Friday sees the last Norwegian flight to Liverpool. Many winter 2014/2015 routes are now loaded and Liverpool does not yet feature in the timetable.

Why thanks for nothing? They haven't transferred the route to Manchester so obviously it wasn't making enough money full stop. The airline is a business not a charity.

Back in my day, Speke Airport suffered very badly from the regulated regime, barely able to make any in-road into the established prescriptions.
Now there is a free market, from which Liverpool Airport has benefitted enormously.
Sadly, this combination of route/airline/whatever, has not worked. To the credit of the airline, they did not just "up-sticks" and pull the route at 5 days notice, like some others might have done.

All traces of Liverpool have now been removed from the Norwegian website. Not in the drop down menu's or on the 'where we fly' route map. They didn't seem to waste any time given the last flight was only today.
