Baldy an (typing this on a I-pad, the predictive text will not accept the full user name!), from ground level I've never noticed the wording across the taxiway and is presumably all part of the preparations to return to Cat.III status in the future.
I can only assume that with runway incursions being such a problem at some airports, the large warning across the end of the taxiway as it enters the runway threshold, is a final visual reminder of just where they are on the airfield - especially in fog when other visual landmarks are obscured.

The Runway Ahead markings were added at Golf as it's the Hot Stop for incursions. It was decided to add them to all holding points for continuity
