Built in 1943, this is probably the most famous of all the Spitfires still flying today. A veteran of WWII, by the time MH434 was retired from operations in March 1945 she had flown 79 sorties with a total of 5 Combat Kills to her credit. These photos were taken at a wet Liverpool (Speke) Air Display on Saturday, 29th April 1972. Fortunately the weather improved in time for the flying displays. Sporting her civil registration on the port side only. Born to fly...Poetry in Motion. Just for fun... 40's style! Hope these stir some memories! Thanks for looking. Dave.
