Think they were commisioned by the airport at the time, and they were sold in the WH Smiths shop in the old terminal(now the Crowne Plaza)I still have the British Eagle 111 and the CS and EG Viscounts, although they are not in a very good condition.

Very nice. I looked at the last one first and was surprised to see the colour of the clock. Did not remember it as red. Than I looked at the other three. Good memories.

What a great find.Well done that man. Ha those happy happy days on the balcony when the only spin was the propellor on a dart engine.LOL This forum occasionally turns up real gems and this is one of the best.Thanks.

I can confirm that I bought these from the shop in the terminal building. Glad that they have brought back so many memories. For those interested, the Cambrian Viscount was a postcard published by Lilywhite of Brighouse (a Hunting Photographic Company). Reference LP/C6 Liverpool Airport. The Aer Lingus Viscount was on a postcard printed and published by E T W Dennis and Sons of Scarborough. Has a couple of references, Photocolour L.0738 and 67 The one with the 2 Viscounts was a Frith card of Reigate reference LPL25 The British Eagle 1-11 was on a J Salmon of Sevenoaks card (some of the reference is missing where I had glued it in a log book - reference ends in 02-11/4314c). I've found an aerial shot of an Eagle 1-11 which must have been one of their promotional giveaways as it has no commercial references on the back (I might have acquired it at the British Eagle open day - the other thread I started on this forum). Thinking back to the 60's on the balcony these postcards certainly reflect the common movements - pity there weren't some with Dan Air DC-3's and Ambassadors, British Midland Argonauts and Cambrian DC-3's (although the internet has given access to individual photographers collections from that era so we can reminisce).
