A train carrying six 737 fuselages as well as other aircraft components for the 777 and 747 , was derailed on Thursday about 10 miles west of Alberton, causing three of the plane fuselages to tumble down a steep bank and into the Clark Fork River below. The other three fuselages which did not end up in the river are said to have been damaged. The fuselages were on their way from Spirit Aerosystems in Wichita, Kansas, where they were built, to the final assembly line at Boeing in Renton, Washington. An attempt will be made today to lift the fuselages from the river. All six fuselages are thought to be scrap with unrepairable water and/or stress damage.
