Lots of sites have this as a 737-79P. What does the 9P stand for? Could it be the customer it was originally built for or the equipment it has? Just answered my own question - it's the airline it was originally built for. The 9p stands for China Eastern Airlines. Here's where I found the info should anyone else find it helpful. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Boeing_customer_codes

The 'last two' in a Boeing type number are a 'customer number' 30 = Lufthansa, 36 = British Airways, K5 = TUI, AS = Ryanair etc. The system started with the Boeing 707 in the late '50s and is consistent across all their civilian aircraft since upto and including the Boeing 777. There used to be enthusiast compiled lists of these customer designations, but the system got rather unwieldy. No matter how much the aircraft was modified by subsequent owners, even when gutted, freight floor fitted, large freight door and windows replaced for cargo duties, it would keep the code of the initial ordering customer. The customer code system was completely dropped by Boeing around 2+(?) years ago, which is why, for example, the recent Ryanair deliveries are simply Boeing 737-800. From the outset, the Boeing 787 and now for the MAX series a simple number is used to denote the series, other types still in production now use just the series number.
See while I was typing and checking my answer, Ste-t has found the answer. I'll leave my reply in place as well as there are other details included.

Thanks for the reply Brian. Very interesting and a great pity Boeing have stopped doing it. Had a fine time looking for easyJet and Ryaniar's former 737's.

The Bucharest services for May 2019 were flown by:
Series 300 4 return flts YR-BAF 1st, 5th, 10th, 12th.
Series 400 1 return flt YR-BAS 6th
Series 500 6 return flts YR-BAG 13th, 15th, 19th, 20th, 27th, 31st
Series 800 7 return flts YR-BMD 3rd, 24th, YR-BMJ 17th, YR-BMK 29th, YR-BML 22nd, YR-BMP 8th, 26th.
So 18 rotations, 11 by older generation aircraft is around the 60%, 7 by NG aircraft 40%
Even if you take the series 400 and 800 together as being the larger marks, it looks better to report 8 by the larger aircraft, 4 by the medium and 6 by the smaller. Still a 44%/56% larger/smaller split though.
All the Bacau flights flown by series 800 aircraft using YR-BMN and YR-BMO only.
On a whim had a look back at May 2018's Blue Air flights to Bucharest and find that there were fewer flights, with only 13 rotations during the month, 12 operated by series 800 and 1 by series 400. I'll leave it to the experts who follow how many seats particular airlines put into their aeroplanes to work out the capacity offered, but to me it appears that the capacity offered in 2019 is greater than in 2018, and with a little more choice of day of travel, only using at times slightly smaller capacity aircraft. Which does place a question over Ametyst's assertion over competition affecting loads that I initially produced evidence to support!

Blue Air is showing Liverpool reservations to end of July 2020 so far. I think just Bucharest so far. Not great times.

Blue Air plan to recommence Liverpool to Bucharest from 16th May. There are no plans for the Bacau service to return.
Bucharest flights will operate at 00:55-01:40 in the early hours of Monday and Saturday mornings and at 08:40-09:25 on a Wednesday. Flights will be flown by Boeing 737-800s.

YR-BMH and YR-BMI B738s are currently en route from Turin to Saint Athan as BMR11P and BMR10P presumably for parting out. No doubt coming up for major checks and deemed uneconomic in the current climate, worth more as spare parts.
YR-BAG B735 is in pursuit to ferry the crews home.
YR-BMH is the "Liverpool" special livery aircraft.
