According to a press report this week a resident local to an airport in the Midlands disturbed two asian men on the approach to the airport using what he thought was a range finder, when challanged they ran away dropping various documents including airline flight timetables. The police are taking the report very seriously as a possible terrorist act. Just a suggestion if a similar situation arises at Liverpool with suspicious people can I say we have enough excellent photograpers who should put long lens to use. Sadly the way things are going in the terror arena it won't be long.

There was a time, a few years ago, when the police and others were almost "spotter friendly" as a way of using extra eyes on the ground, as it were. Does this atmosphere still exist and if not, is it worth resurrecting?

The police who visit us on the mound are very friendly and sociable but the same can not be said for airport security who are with out getting personal, just the opposite by a mile. Regards Beemer.

I'd be interested to know what they mean by that. afaik, airlines no longer produce printed timetables, so were these printed from the internet, or in disk form? Is there a link to this, because I haven't seen it reported elsewhere.
