DSCF6628 by jeanchene, on Flickr This Alouette was the last recognisable frame. The guy was charming to speak to and once he realised that we did know a bit about aviation really opened up.Hid father it seems had died suddenly whilst establishing the museum and the son is doing all hecan to preserve it.It seems no one else locally has any interest and even the local schools have spurned a visit. We thought he ws a great and courageous guy but losing ground. He also said he was a royalist and that France needed a King to sack the government --call new elections and halve the politicians salaries--so no arguments from us on that score even though I am not a royalist;LOL In closing --the visit was free but he did accept a donation towards the upkeep--I think he needs every penny he can get and good luck to him. A great guy.

John the photos were a long time coming but well worth it in the end. You will have to arrange a NWAN base tour for us as it looks an interesting place. Regards Beemer.

Wassamer--saw a Wassamer Sancy Super 4 at Speke once at an airshow--were they bought over by Jodel?

Wassamer, a woodworking company from way back, commenced its aviation origins when they built a batch of machines for Jodel. They set up their own brand soon after, moving into metal, and way ahead of everybody else; plastic too!. They went out of business in the late 70's. A resurrected company still makes gliders, I think, and supports Wassamer aircraft. We have a Wassamer near to us and he flies in quite regularly. The guy who used to own it, now a neighbour of mine, bought a Cirrus SR22 instead but now wishes he had his Wassamer back.
Liked your pictures. Ron
