I took a bike ride to the old north airfield last sunday, here are some photos of the aircraft etc at the Crowne plaza hotel HS748 G-BEJD slowly being painted into Danair livery hopefully we will see this a/c on its under cart soon. Percival Prince G-AMLZ now beautifully painted in Shell oils corporate livery. In a bad way the DH89 Dragon Rapide replica, damaged by weather over the years G-ANCF Britannia, now with a protective finish for the winter, its possible we may see her on her undercarridge next year. G-ANCF Britannia flight deck Gloster Meteor WH291, an F8 which was last used as a target tower, soon to have its rear fuselage and tail unit re attached. Shorts 360 GSSWM forward fuselage ex Streamline aviation The way upto the balcony in the old days, who knows what delights would be waiting on the apron once you climbed the stairs! It occured to me what an asset we have on our doorstep,so hoped you enjoyed the picures as much as I enjoyed the bike ride.

Nice shots calflier, wouldn't recommend anyone parks a car where you put your bike though. Peel will charge you £100 for the privilege but they will show mercy if you pay early by reducing it to £60. And don't think you will get away with it for just a minute or two as they constantly patrol the area in an ANPR van. Must cost them more to patrol the area than they get back in parking charges.
