Gents, Two of us yesterday went for a thoroughly enjoyable visit to Virtual Aerospace at Sywell. The have two "proper" 737 800 flight simulators that you can pay to have a go on. Cost is not cheap at about £90 for a 30 minute session but hey to do circuits at Liverpool in a 737 doesn't seem that much . It is a very professional organisation, Jeremy who was our instructor was very helpful and even though he must have done this hundreds of times was still very enthusiastic and genuinely enjoyed flying with us. The cockpit has a jump seat, and even six airline style seats behind for the wives. They can see everything as well. As you can see from the pictures I chose to do circuits and a couple of touch and goes at Liverpool on 27. Truly amazing experience, the noise , everything. Only thing it thankfully did not do was fall to pieces if you over stress it in the turns or slam it onto the runway. Each time you land you feel yourself getting tense and are waiting for a bump which thankfully does not happen.
Just about to land on 27, straight down the centre line.........

Looked like a great experience,it would be nice if a company could be formed to operate old simulators, such as the 707/727/DC9 etc,I think Air atlantique still have a DC6 sim.but I suppose they would be relying on non aviation connected people to use them.Imagine bashing the LPL,circuit in a DC8-60!
