A Germain Wings A320 has crashed in the alps this morning, no news yet on any casualties or the state of the aircraft.

TV is reporting the loss of an A320 of German Wings between Barcelona and Dusseldorf. M Yes climbed to FL380,then began a gradual decent at about 3/4 thousand feet per minute,until the radar signal was lost near Digne,south east France at 6800feet.with 150 pax and crew on board,this looks like a very sad loss,we can always hope for them!.

The Aircraft was ModeS 3C6618,Registration D-AIPX,Type code,A320,Type,Airbus A320-211,S/N 0147,Airline Germanwings.

It seems the airbus 320 was registration D-AIPX making the return journey from Barcelona,and was then lost.Very sad and prayers to everyone onboard.

Daily mail is saying that a similar GW aircraft went into a tailspin but was recovered. A safety bulletin was issued following this incident. This is a possible lead

The BBC are reporting that one of the pilots was locked out of the cockpit and couldn't get back in.

It has been determined that 28 year old Co-pilot crashed the plane deliberately. BBC news says he had a history of being depressed.

Name of co-pilot edited out as my viewing of the tv news is that this is offical conjecture, not yet investigative fact. The news stations seem to be putting 2 and 2 together to make 4, until a full report, I feel naming names (even if done elsewhere) could be unfair. However rest of post is left 'as is' as that is the current angle and reflects media reports. Admin.

The boss of Lufthansa stated this is what they believe to have happend after investigators had heard the CVR tape. That was disclosed during his latest press conference.
