G-DAAT Eurocopter has been fairly active in the area this week ..so I was wondering if the new NW Air ambulance base had opened so when I went out for papers dropped down to Seacombe to check. The base is near Seacombe ferry at the emergency services training facility at Scotts Quay there is a newly painted H on the large concrete area behind the tall beige building with a blue band around it together with a new fuel tank. Looks like the helo will be hangared in the back of this building. Access Scotts Quay..... the road has a gate on it that was open this am and no sign of any restricted area or keep out signs...this may change... so if its out a photo of the helicopter would be possible...there is cctv everywhere as you would expect with this type of establishment,,I think you may also have a good view from the riverside walk footpath. Helicopter may just be working up at the moment as there has been nothing in press about the base opening..but if you see helicopters at 0 feet in Wallasey on FR24 etc it will be at this location. Will post if opening date is in press.
regards Dave

Dave you will find that the reg has never been updated on FR24, it is really G-NWAE. G-NWAE has recently moved from it's base at Barton to the new one at Wallasey. Regards Beemer.

Brian Air Ambulance G-NWAE is back at Barton as seen today and will remain until further notice.Heard about it yesterday being moved so ask at the airport today and this is the reply I received although it could change.

Re the "NEW AIR AMBULANCE BASE" at Wallasey located at the Emergency Training Base, this story was started at the end of 2014 when I had a meeting with a member of the crew out fundraising. There is a quite a few uploads on the subject from me and other members around November time.
