That was one way of waking everybody up! Got to the Mersey estuary and lit the burners and powered away... Absolutely brilliant!

Seen climbing heading North West with after burners on, awesome sight and sound.

We need to petition for more departures of that caliber not the usual exit. I attempted a photo but failed as all I could see was a lump of reheat.

G-BCSL, What is this? I have no idea.. There are a number of ways to match a registration with a type of aircraft. Use one of the several logging data-bases (others know more about these than I do, as they use them) For any G- registration there is a massive database, freely available containing every G- aircraft ever since 1919 and every owner of every aircraft and many other details since then too! It is also bang upto date with details of new registrations such as Citabria G-CTAB only painted on in late July. www.caa.co.uk/ginfoGoogle the registration. Rarely does this fail to come up with an answer - though with German, Manx and US aircraft, not necessarily the right one, as registrations are routinely re-allocated. For an aircraft at Liverpool that does not excite any comment from the regulars, make a search on this forum site, I set the request to 365 days, or 2200 if I want to go right back to post 1. The search should come up with multiple references, including a whole thread on G-BCSL derbosoft.proboards.com/thread/10654/chipmunk-10-wg474-bcsl An alternative would be to have a look at the list of Liverpool resident aircraft derbosoft.proboards.com/thread/15874/ljla-general-aviation-residents-listVery familiar to those 'of a certain age' ie spotting since before home PCs in the mid '90s, there is the annual 'aircraft enthusiast's bible', Civil Aircraft Markings and Military Aircraft Markings. Published around April each year, CAM contains every UK, Irish, Manx & Guernsey current registered aircraft plus all airliners from around the world likely to be seen in the UK routinely; while MAM lists every UK military serial still worn on an aircraft and those of a great many nations who might visit the UK. Mine are indispensable when doing the monthly visitors for the forum. Have a look in the TAS Shop in the AVP at Manchester when you are next there. There are other UK registers too with more detail, but for ease of use CAM and MAM are excellent. Finally, you can do exactly what you did, and ask!
