Thanks Bob,think its for a film,re the incident in the fifties when a Hermes flying from Tripoli to Lagos crashed in the Sahara desert due to a navigation error,some of the crew and passengers had two weeks to endure in the desert until nomads found them,should be an interesting film,but pity we never kept a Hermes in the first place!

Thanks for the question Steve,Its a Douglas AD-4 Skyraider,it was originally supplied to the French Navy I think,and thats still its US defence serial 127894, it was at the SAAF Museum at Swartkop,but what its doing in the Springbok air hangar,I am not sure,I doubt if it will fly again,but who knows,Here is another pic i took in the Springbok hangar,it was a bit dark,but added to the feeling,of its treasure trove experience.
