Does anyone know the cost of lessons per hour from the various flying schools at LPL? I've looked at the web sites for the three that I know of but can't find a price. Seems strange that there isn't a price list or perhaps I'm not looking hard enough.
It could just be my way of thinking but I would never walk into a car sales room with all the screen prices pointing away from public view because, I know there will be an over eager salesman waiting to pouncing on me if I did. Likewise, I'd never take an item to the till of a shop without knowing what it costs. I'm also reluctant to enquire about anything with a price tag of POA but would prefer to go directly to companies proudly displaying a price for the same or similar product.

Wow, that was quick. Obviously, I wasn't looking hard enough, appears to outshine Ravenair, and LFS, but would like to hear from anyone with a similar link to their pricing strategies. Thanks Sabreliner, at this moment in time this will be the one I'll be going with in the new year.

ste-t There are a lot more things to consider than just the price when looking for a flying school. How many instructors do they have, full time and part time? How many aircraft do they have available? What is the availability of the aircraft? Are you available midweek when the aircraft may be more available? Is their policy that you have an instructor dedicated to you (as far as possible) during the early stages of your training? If you dont get on with an instructor then ask for a different one. It doesn't mean you dont get on with him as a person just his instructional technique isnt to your liking. Different instructors teach things differently, hence why you should aim to have just one instructor in the early stages. Go and talk to them, is the welcome warm and sincere, did they find out what your expectations were, did you feel comfortable there? Look beyond a glossy facade. The school/club I belong to at Humberside Airport may not be the most glamorous but it's warm, friendly and welcoming. I am sure there are many of us licensed pilots on here who can pass on our experiences, you only have to ask.

Thanks for all the replies.
Obviously, as 350biker points out a lot more to this than just booking in and flying. I'm often free mid week so aircraft availability may not be a problem. Finding a regular instructor may be as the days I'm available vary from week to week.
Thanks for the Ravenair link Commander. Being a novice to this (my only past experience is taking to the controls of Chipmunks in my teens with the Air Training Corps) I went straight to the home page and clicked the link to the Flying School. The site is fantastic I tells me everything I need to know about the company and the various courses available but there didn't appear to be an obvious link to prices on that page. Have to get myself down to Specsavers.
