According to a Twitter post, the new XLR Jet Centre at Liverpool has taken three years to get it up and running.

LPL, Who is being quoted in the quotation quoted in your recent post on this thread? Or put another way, who performed the 'opening' of the XLR facility?

No idea who 'cut the ribbon'.
The quote came from Chris Beer.

Had to Google to find who Chris Beer is. Interesting guy, profile on: uk.linkedin.com/in/christopher-beer-a266672bSounds as though XLS management opened their own Corporate Handling facility, but not with a celebrity 'ribbon cut' ceremony. Trust that FoLA have Chris Beer 'in their sights' to invite as a speaker for a future meeting (once they get their usual venue back).

XLR is owned by the Rigby Group who operate in several business sectors.
Obviously one sector is aviation. In addition to XLR they own/operate Coventry Airport, Exeter Airport, Bournemouth Airport and Norwich Airport.
They also own British International Helicopters.

Request for help
My brother flies up occasionally to see family, in his part owned Cessna 177, and has asked if I could explain exactly where on the airport the new FBO is located - Looking back on the thread I see there are plans for a new facility and apron but that the newly opened facility is located at the opposite end which I am afraid doesn't mean much to me?
For simplicity could anyone load map showing where the new facility is located or provide a description relative to the usual parking.
Any help much appreciated

I think it's next to the free car park, which is to the right of the roundabout.

As one who has had cause to use FBOs in many parts of the world on many occasions, I cannot stress how important they are to bizjet customers and operators. From what I can tell from the postings, this company seems like a very professional outfit. I think it's important if the airport is to grow its business jet traffic to have someone, who in the eyes of those using them, is both professional and efficient. I wish them well and hope it will bring further business into the airport.

Viscount.. yes, FoLA have XLR firmly in it's sights having sourced for them the photos that now adorn the walls at the new base. In due course we will be visiting the facility having been invited by Chris. I'm sure we can also tempt him back to our "base", the Cavern Suite, which has recently been refurbished.
