You can reduce size of posts by using the real image address in flickr, normally this is hidden in the bbcode for sharing your photos. You can extract the real flickr hosted image address from the bb sharing code and use that instead. Here is an example, the image is shown as 240 pixel wide thumbnail but when clicked it zooms out to 1600 pixels wide in a new window (if you have a display with the capacity to view 1600 pixels wide images) . This would work well with a string of 15-20 images for example, they would load into the forum page very quickly.
