Decided to do another kit to cheer myself up. I have gone for a big cat in the Jaguar GR.1. This will be of XZ358 'Diplomatic Service' that was based at Al Muharraq during Operation Granby during 1991. The decals are after market by Kits World. On the main fuselage there is not a lot of detail so I will have to do that as I go along. Other than that the only bit that caused any issues on joining the 2 sections was the pilot and base. You have to angle it up slightly while joining the sections. IMG_4850 by Christopher Newton, on Flickr IMG_4851 by Christopher Newton, on Flickr Chris

Yes they are. The kit is from around 1975. It shows its age with the lack of panel detailing compared to new kits. I got it off ebay for around £6 but no decals, hence the reason for the Granby scheme.

£6.00 that's a bargain and a half.

The kit is now complete. Would I recommend it? Yes and no, yes if you can't get a new version of it and no because it isn't that detailed enough and a bit rough round the edges. Most of the kit goes well together but the bits that let it down are sitting the under-carriage in the down position and if you want the pilot in then the canopy wont fit properly. Overall not a bad kit for the price that is showing its age. Here are the final photographs.
