Edwin Air Cargo Antonov An-26 LZ-FLL is set to become a regular visitor to Liverpool. Edwin Air Cargo, based in the Isle of Man, has begun commercial Cargo operations using the AN-26 leased from Bright Flight of Bulgaria. The airline is planning to start a scheduled freight service between Isle of Man and Liverpool, followed by services from the island to Belfast and Du line. Janes Aviation part 3 then.

Interestingly, their contact address is Jurby Airfield, not Ronaldsway!

I note that the MAC Logistics/Speke Freight Terminal websites appear to be active, maybe a possible tie in?

This great news for the airport...may be not so much for those who live near to the airport and remember emerald useing them in the early 2000's noisey buggers. Had many an angry call from locals about the noise.ππ

This is a very interesting development, and I hope it gains traction with the freight forwarders. Be nice to see ad hoc charters too, such as for the auto industry. However any charters would have to work around any scheduled operations. I hope they have a good supply of parts on hand as well as their own mechanic. Good luck to them. This post by "northbynorthwest" was originally posted on this section, however the post was moved by Admin to the Nostalgia Section due to the original opening comments reflecting on Edwin a well known MAS member and character of the 1970s and 80s. Admin has now had to move the content that is relevant to this section back again! Unintended consequence of what seemed a good idea. Brian, Admin.

Has Edwin moved? Always seems to be parked in same place when I drive past. Cargo figures donβt appear to show its done much!

I would suspect (or at least hope) that they are going through a certification process with the CAA / the Manx authorities or whoever. This can be a long and tedious process, involving reviewing all their policies and procedures. Hope they are getting their marketing sorted out at the same time.
