From the direction replies are taking, and my own hunt around the internet, 'Harbourcutter', as a matter of interest were your documents generated direct from Laudamotion's internet booking engine, via Ryanair's internet booking engine, through a booking engine site such as Skyscanner/Expedia/eDreams/Opodo/eBookers etc, or from an IATA high street travel company? I ask as I wonder if someone's data-base is out of date - especially as not all customers get the information you have been provided with.
From the avcodes website, the current codes are:
Laudamotion/Lauda IATA OE ICAO LDM
Cairo Aviation IATA -- ICAO CCE
It appears that IATA code 'OE' is also used as controlled duplication by Asia Overnight Express of the Philippines (ICAO code AOT) - the two operator's services being unlikely to ever meet. Historically the IATA code 'OE' has been allocated to at least 9 different users, indeed one of them was Channel Express, before being reallocated as 'LS' (so must have been in the very early '80s).

I was on the inaugural Laudamotion service from Vienna, booked through the airline’s own website. It was clear from the documentation that the flight was ticketed by Cairo Aviation. Finding an explanation why isn’t easy, it seems, although it had no obvious impact on the flight itself which was excellent!

Thanks for all of the replies.
I actually booked through the Ryanair site (I was finding it difficult to find the laudamotion site). I'm probably adding 2 and 2 and coming up with 5, but from the responses it appears that laudamotion have merely taken over flight prefixes from Cairo aviation. That leaves the issue of why Cairo aviation is mentioned at all, unless there is some form of 'handover' period and its a legal issue, although i'm totally guessing here.

Zadar is great news if it's right. Believe Rayanair did well on the route till it was moved.

Lauda Motion has suspended all ops until 8th April and the planned Zadar service for Summer 2020 will not happen as Lauda has deffered the opening of the Zadar base until 2021.

Ryanair appears to be making good on it’s threat to close Lauda’s Vienna base from 29 May after failing to reach agreement with the unions. Seems they will deploy their own aircraft instead. LPL - VIE is due to restart at the beginning of August.

Ryanair has agreed a deal with the Lauda Motion workers and the airline will not now be closed. The Vienna base will be reduced from 16 to 10 aircraft. Lauda also has bases at Dusseldorf, Palma de Mallorca and Stuttgart.
