Hello Folks Just recently i have found myself with quite a bit of free time. So i have been out walking in and around the Derwent Valley hunting for vantage points to photograph low flying aircraft using the valley. Most of my ventures have drawn a blank in terms of seeing any aircraft, but it does give me some much needed exercise!. The Derwent Valley is quite close to where I live, but unfortunately Low Flying Area 8 is a very quiet part of the UK Low Flying System. Anyway these are some of the photos I have taken this year in LFA8. February 22 2019 (East side of Derwent Dam) February 26 2019 (From the path up to Win Hill from Thornhill) April 01 2019 (Bamford Edge) April 30 2019 (West side of Ladybower a mile south of Derwent Dam) So those were the ones i managed to photograph, i have only attached one photo from each pass to keep the post compact. There were a couple of Hawk T2's and a slack handfull of quite high (500ft AGL) Prefect T1's that got away. Cheers Shaun

Low Flying in Derbyshire - 2019 To continue from the original post. Here are some of my photos taken in May. May 13 2019 May 15 2019 May 16 2019 May 23 2019 First time i have managed to photograph a land locked Prefect. The type has become fairly common in LFA8 but usually quite high. About 500 ft AGL seems to be the norm, so i was pleased to get this one at around 250 ft AGL. Cheers Shaun

July was my last full month of 'freedom' on my CAA enforced 'holiday'. I recently had my Class 1 medical restored after four an a half months off work, i am now back at Barton instructing. So this will the last post of the series. July 3rd 2019 Taken from Lead Hill which over looks Ladybower where the A57 crosses it. July 4th 2019 Taken from the hill on east side of the Derwent Dam. July 8th 2019 Taken from the hill on east side of the Derwent Dam. July 15th 2019 Taken from the path up to Win Hill. Cheers Shaun

Shaun, glad you are back in the saddle where you belong. Have really enjoyed your stunning photos. Please keep them coming, even if they may be more mundane pictures at Barton.

Shaun
Just wanted to wish you all the best back in the harness - must have been difficult for a few months but we have all benefitted from your excellent pics.
Wish you all the best at Barton.
