As the airlines that have already have their Boeing 737MAX aircraft are not permitted a 'ferry' back to their engineering base, I rather think not. The Norwegian Boeing 737-8MAX that is 'stuck' at Malaga is apparently taken to a remote stand and started up each week to keep the engine oil circulating, hydraulics up to pressure and the electronics all powered up and working. I would imagine that is true of all the grounded aircraft and a further cost to add to parking, and paying the HP for an near new aircraft that you cannot operate.

Agreed but the difference might be deemed that in your example it is already a customer aircraft, rather than not been delivered. I was just curious really since even at the reduced rate of 42 a month , since mid March they must have 150 ish new ones parked near the factory. That’s a lot of real estate as they say.

My example of the Norwegian example 'stuck' at Malaga. could well be out of date, as on 11th July it was nowhere to be seen on the airfield. - inference being that it has been flown to somewhere more convenient to keep t 'live' while effectively stored.

It seems that at a meeting on 10th July of the European Airlines Lobby Michael O'Leary gave his thoughts on the grounding. While Boeing expect it to be flying by end Sept, MOL does not but is hopeful will be by end November or will impact their growth plans for 2020. He thought IAG LOI was a great move. This may well be of benefit to RYR as they have a clause which along with Southwest guarantees they can buy at lower prices than its competitors.
Also said to be interested in up to 100 A321 for Laudamotion.
Personal thought here, Level keep saying Vienna is underperforming, and is new battleground for LoCos. Potential massive expansion here could be a problem for some.
