Kbely is best described as the Czech equivalent of RAF Northolt and is the home of 42 Transport Squadron who operate A319 (2), Yak 40 (1), CN-295, AN-26, LET 410
and Mil 8s. It is also home to the Czech Military Museum housing 100+ aircraft, helicopters and gliders. There is a main display hangar and 3/4 smaller hangars some of
which are themed WW1, WW2 etc. Entry is free of charge and the car park is across the road (three minute walk). The Museum has aircraft stored airside, but please
note photography towards the base is strictly prohibited possibly resulting in consequences, the Museum staff do keep a watchful eye on you.
Non Czech aircraft include a Swedish Air Force Draken and Viggen, a Vietnam Air Force F-5E Freedom Fighter and a RAF F-4K Phantom (blue overall c/s).
The DC-3 "D-21" was previously at Prague Vaclav Havel Airport, displayed as OK-XDM outside Czech Airlines HQ but was moved to build a multi storey car park.
