Not much to get excited about, but managed a few pics between visiting relatives;

This was the view of Exeter Airport from our Airport (Hilton) Hotel, you can just about make out the windsock in the centre of the photo

Unfortunately there was nothing flying, and sunset arrived

So it was virtually dark when G-FBEG finally turned up, and these two photos were taken at 1/40 sec, 300 mm, through glass, hand held. I'm dead chuffed with the second one.

The next morning was no better, and I was reduced to taking a picture of a WW2 bunker on the edge of the airfield!

On leaving it was just about possible to get a photo of this 737, but only by using my camera phone through the anti-photography fence!

Onto Exeter Cathedral, where there is one aviation relic, which took a big chunk out of the Cathedral in 1942

On the way back to Bristol Airport we just happened to pass the semi-disused Upottery Airfield (quite close to Dunkeswell). RAF Upottery closed in 1948, after being used by American C-47s and Liberators. However, the surfaces were all laid in concrete so have survived in fairly good condition. So much so that the site featured in the recent "Band of Brothers" film, and in 2018 the DC-3 "That's All Brother" landed for a parachute event.

I was initially annoyed when this fella got in the road, but then realised that he was making a good photo!

Not quite a C-47, but aviation survives at Upottery.
