Dunavarsarny is no stranger to NWAN having been reported by Wadoki two years ago. At the time it was an abandoned project to create a Cold War Museum, basically some scruffy aircraft sat in a field. Apparently the owner / project manager was tragically killed in a plane crash in 2014. Since then with an injection of
cash, some devoted volunteers have put in a lot of hard work and completed the project - it opened on 29th May this year. The aircraft have been re-assembled and given a fresh coat of paint. There is a nice new forecourt with a patriotically painted Mig 21 on it, and a snack bar with seating. Also on display are military vehicles and mobile radars. I hope it succeeds after all their hard work, and worth a visit, it is only 10 kilometres from Budapest.
