As almost an outsider it still comes as a shock when something like this happens. My thoughts are with you Brian and I hope the pain can be partially helped by memories of your wife and times you shared together.

I thank you all for your sympathy and thoughts at this time. I have also had a fair number of private condolence messages by PM. I did ask Brian originally to keep the private, personal information off the forum, but as the news leaked out around the 'Meercats', he was right to pass it on as a fair few members had met her over the years, mainly through FoLA's activities.
We are both only just recently into State Pension age, and thought we had years ahead together yet. But that was not be.
A quiet and dignified service at a Crematorium in Velez-Malaga was held Wednesday afternoon attended by core family and a number of friends from a local 'Boots and Blisters Walking Group' and close neighbours. The Spanish tradition is to hold the funeral the day after death, we had to stretch that to allow family to arrive from holiday. A C of E Minister who serves the ex-pat community across Axarquia (the area east of Malaga City) conducted a simple and meaningful service.
Again thank you all for your thoughts. I'm actually quite touched. Thank You.
Brian.
