200m RVR required for CAT III approach, 300m for CAT II, 550m for CAT I. If you look at the WirralCam looking at Seaforth Docks, the large cranes derricks are now clear above a shallow fog bank, with the cabs in and out of the top of the fog bank. 45 minutes ago, you could not see a thing. Cavok at Hawarden for much of the morning. Tantalizingly close to the fog clearing out. Trouble is that you may be able to see the approach lights on long finals, but then lose them low to the ground as you enter the fog bank.
