Foreign Secretarys are high up in Governments, hardly think its likely they will fly into London get off their jet and get a train to Liverpool.

Perhaps the fact the airport has put out a NOTAM saying that it won’t accept any diversions between 10 -12 December because of capacity, suggests that something is expected…

Why would a good number go to Manchester? What a stupid comment

Well maybe it was pointless speculation. Not sure what political profiles has got to do with it, destination and venue might be more pertinent.

The only good reason for using Manchester for this purpose would be one or more of these:-
Availability of parking space for aircraft** Availability of secure and upper class seating on scheduled flights. The availability of de-icing equipment.
** EG. If Anthony Blinken arrives even with a small entourage of a 757, C-17 and helicopter, that takes up three spaces. Just speculation of course based on what has happened in the past at other places.

Why would a good number go to Manchester? What a stupid comment I totally agree but bear in mind the OP has been guilty of this in the past 🤔 .

So I apologise if this does turn out to be a stupid question...
But could woodvale be used if LPL is full? Obviously for those arriving on smaller aircraft. Are diplomats exempt from border controls which woodvale obviously doesn't have? It's the only other aerodrome in the liverpool city region, and is less than 30 mins to the venue.

Imagine it would depend on how secure they think the airfield is. Being an RAF airfield it should be secure.
