MALAGA AIRPORT (AGP)
SUNDAY 11th FEBRUARY 2024 (15:20 to 17:35)
SUNDAY 11th FEBRUARY 2024 (15:20 to 17:35)
A couple of hours having dropped off a neighbour to catch a Ryanair to Liverpool. As I was in the terminal area, read off the larger biz-jets out-parked on the terminal apron and could read off most of the limited numbers on the executive apron from the Churriana location as heat haze was absent and confirmed my suspicion that the Icelandic Coast Guard Dash 8 that fuel-stopped at John Lennon was indeed on its way to another spell of refugee monitoring.
Traffic seemed slow, but looking at the list a fair variety of aircraft and airlines were seen, certainly 4 x ERJs and 2 x A.220 broke the usual monotony of B.737s and A.320/321s - missing though was any sightings of an easyJet! As traffic was landing over the coast I moved from the terminal car park to Churriana only to find air traffic had changed ends, so moved onwards to the inland viewing area. Without bright sunshine, indeed there was mist over the hills and rain clouds out to sea, moved around to locations I would not usually photograph from.

Having flown in from Keflavik via Liverpool JLA, Icelandic Coast Guard Dash-8 TF-SIF, sat all alone on the military apron.
One biz-jet on the executive apron defied identification, although the colour scheme is certainly different! Maximum zoom and maximum crop - the Museum's Cv.240 is in the foreshortened background. Thanks to 'Beemer's' reply, it is now known to be PR-HNG a Challenger 350.
I-KREM a smart looking Hawker 800XP
Two shots of the same aeroplane, Global 6000 N29FR, that show the varying weather - over to the east a shaft of sunshine through misty cloud lights up a mountainside, while to the south heavy dark rain clouds over the Mediterranean.
Volotea Airbus A.320 EC-MBK departing 13, seen from Churriana at the 31 end.
Air France Airbus A.320 F-GKXH landing on 12, seen from the inland area between runways 13 (departures) and 12 (landings)
Embraer ERJ-190E2 OO-ETA, one I've not seen before, of TUI Belgium landing 12 on it's second attempt after an early go-around call on the first, despite benign conditions. While one aircraft committing to a go-around is unusual, within two hours a Vueling Airbus A.320 also performed an early-call go-around. Both aircraft took around 20 minutes to be positioned back into the landing sequence.
Swiss International Airbus A.220, HB-JCL.
CS-PHO Embraer EMB-500 Phenom 300 of NetJets - an operator that was quite busy on a Sunday afternoon.
Royal Air Maroc Embraer ERJ-195 CN-RGQ (yes that is a Q) having landed on 12
G-RUKA Ryanair UK Boeing 737-800 on a 13 departure from the 31 fast turn-off, rather taxi all the way for a full-length take-off.
9H-NFU ATR-72-600 on a short-hop flight for Iberia Regional and Air Nostrum in 'polar bear' white.
D-AIEC Airbus A321 Lufthansa on taxi for a 13 departure
EI-HAW & EI-DWH. Two Ryanair's to contrast an older series 800 and a recent 8MAX200. EI-DWH on its way to Liverpool,
EC-LAB, Airbus A.320 Vueling lined up for departure on 13, with ragged cloud descending down the mountains beyond.
CS-TPP Embraer ERJ-190 of TAP-Air Portugal Express at the holding point before departing for Lisbon.
EC-LVP Airbus A.320 of Vueling smoothly landing on its second attempt, after an early go-around call on the first.
YL-ABB Airbus A.220, Baltic Airlines, on hold at the end of runway 13 before departure
CN-NMH Airbus A.320, Air Arabia, landing 12.
A prickly ending to this set of images - I'm assuming this is Acacia - a plant I associate with Giraffes and the East African plains!
