Brian "Beemer", I think Graham's comment was aimed at me, Brian "Viscount".
I'm working again on getting the early '70s visiting aircraft movements typed to digital, and having moved on progressively into 1971-1974 I can now with certainty state that Cherokee 180D G-AWTL did actually call in at Liverpool in the early '70s, landing at Liverpool Airport on Tuesday 9th May 1972, f&t Biggin Hill, calling just the once that year, but did not subsequently visit in either 1973 or 1974. As for 1975 I haven't got that far, which will some months off as I've got much work still to do on 1971-1974 translating PHB's hand written records onto Excel digital! However, from the hand-written records, having been provided with a date to look up, Graham is indeed correct, and I find that G-AWTL did visit on a Saturday, the 25th July 1975, routing from Biggin Hill and departing the following day for Barnstaple. Well found Graham, I'd missed it totally. I suspect you may well remember PHB's little hard-back movements note-books compiled from ATC records each week and avidly inspected by us spotters in the clubroom at the weekends.
At the same time searched for G-AVEN Cessna F150G, another 50 year old aircraft recently based at Liverpool on my newly typed out Excel spreadsheets, first registered in January 1967, and find that it had no reason to land at Liverpool certainly before the end of 1974. Looking on G-INFO it has had owners in Scotland, London region, Bedford and Cambridge until reasonably recently.
