Thanks Dave for the correction, not really a ship buff, but seem to be taking more and more shots of ships lately, I knew it was something SKY. It looks in a sad state now.

plus it has a massive heli deck. How they can see where they are going with all that in the way is beyond belief.

I wondered that myself, perhaps the use of radar and a form of maritime GPS computer controlled drive and thrusters helps, however the mk1 eyeball cant be redundant just yet ?

I think they will sit in the wings on the bridge to see out on this fine vessel. Rare to see these over in the Birkenhead Dock System as they normaly use Liverpool but on this occasion Gladstone Lock was out of action for maintenece

Lets hope the maintenance is completed fast so it does not make ships go elsewhere, as I am sure tempters will be offered if an opportunity arises from another port authority to claim Liverpool shipping.

It did indeed Dave. only closed for 2 days i think Biggles as work was needed to be done on the lock itself. Belive it or not Gladstone lock is the same size as the ones on the Panama Canal which are big fellas as you see the stuff that passes through there. the ACL ships can only fit in this lock and even then its a tight fit according to an ex pilot
