Alitalia is to start a series of flights from Liverpool to Rome Fiumicino from 26th June every Tuesday for 5 weeks finishing 24th July not sure of the reason yet, Think it might be something to do with the cruises from Liverpool.

I think its in connection with student travel.it happend last year also,some Dubrovnik airways MD83,s were used as well as AZ A320,s,nice to see this extra business coming back for a second year.

Last year the flights operated every 10/11 days, with the twice-weekly flights going to other UK airports as well.

For the record, we had nine flights last year, they operated on Tuesday 5/07, 19/07, 04/08 18/08 and Sundays 26/06, 10/07, 24/07, 7/08, 21/08. Aircraft used were Dubrovnik MD-80s 9A-CDA and CDE, Alitalia A320s EI-DTL, DTH, DSU and Air Italy B737-400 I-AIMR.
I was also told it was something to do with student travel, but I don't know the actual details.
Glad to hear they are back this year.
