The existing expansion is known as phase 6, Phase 7 of the improvements does include a revamp of the main arrivals area. The existing entrance is really grotty and not what you expect of a modern airport. The cramped arrangements of the immigration area are to be improved as well.

alot more cladding has gone up now as most of the front is coverd.
plenty of framework up in the terminal on level 3

Is it still possible to sit at the burger king? , as when I was last there 2 weeks ago they said it will be gone soon

Yes, you can still sit at Burger King but like the rest of level 3 it will soon be "airside" and not available to the general public when the new security search area becomes operational.

No, it will be switched in one go from old to new. Due to happen (subject to everything being in place) 30.06.10 i.e. next Wednesday.
FoLA members had a look at it on Tuesday and the new Security area is very spacious!
Top floor is security - middle will be future arrival / immigration - bottom is future baggage.
