I cannot remember if it was posted before the axe fell, but Ryanair are to pull four more Liverpool routes for this winter.
These are to Las Palmas, Kaunus, Lodz and Riga.
Flights on other routes are reduced.
These add to routes to Bergamo, Rygge, Rome and Stockhol that were flown last winter and have already been axed this summer.

Sad to see Riga go!
On the plus side Ryanair are adding routes from Liverpool to Vilnius and Warsaw Modlin for the winter. Vilnius is a direct replacement for Kaunas.

Ryanair's Vilnius and Warsaw routes will compete directly with Wizzair. To avoid indulging in "idle speculation",draw your own conclusions.

The Vilnius route is interesting because Wizzair's winter flight schedule from Liverpool is ridiculous for those wanting to spend a weekend away. Ryanair's flight schedule is much better.
Although Vilnius airport is fairly close the centre, I would not want to be around the rough-ish, soviet era airport area in the small hours!
In relation to Warsaw, I have booked a day trip, departing on Ryanair and returning with Wizzair.
Hopefully the competition will complement each other.

It's a pity the day trips are to a remote airport and not the main Warsaw Chopin airport that would be good for spotting.

Manchester Airport's web-site mentions that Ryanair will commence services from Manchester to both Gdansk and Riga next summer.
Riga will become the seventh route to be transferred from Liverpool to Manchester recently following Bremen, Gerona, Milan Bergamo, Oslo Rygge, Rome Ciampino and Rzeszow.
On the plus side, the commencement of Gdansk might put paid to the rumours that Wizz Air are moving to Manchester!

The cost of the fare out was £3.59 inclusive of everything!

A quick check through the Ryanair schedules show a reduction in the Dublin flights for the winter season. There will be only three flights each way on Mondays. There will only be two flights each way on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays with only the morning and evening flights operating. 21 flights-a-week is 5 down on 2011/12.
The Manchester schedule has also been reduced with the same 21 flights each week.

TonySpeke, as a matter of interest are the winter Ryanair Dublin flights, inbound and outbound evenly distributed during the day ie early morning, afternoon, evening - or is the concentration of flights late at night still the case?

There are early and late flights each day to Dublin with LPL based aircraft. The third flight (Mon, Fri, Sat, Sun) varies in times. The fourth flight operates Fri & Sun evening and Sat morning.
