12 Ryanair routes are now on sale for next summer, mainly to the sun destinations. ALC, BCN, IBZ, KRK, TFS have the same number of flights as Summer 2012. CCF, FAO, LPA (back after no winter service), AGP, PMI have one less flight a week. Four flights a week on the two new routes mean there is currently a net loss of one flight so far.
39 routes are currently listed. Let's hope this is not reduced significantly after the summer schedule ends on Tuesday.

I think there may be some increases in some of the frequencys of the popular destinations as the airport is quoted as saying "Today's news will also see Ryanair increase frequencies on a number of existing services to popular destinations including Alicante, Malaga and Faro."

Saw an interview with MOL on Sky yesterday. It was the usual upbeat semi-jocular slap stick stuff which he is so good at. I thought I heard him say that Ryanair would carry an extra million pax next year from Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds and East Midlands. Of course there are many ways of interpreting this, but it sounded positive.
He was absolutely beside himself with joy because the night before he had flown with BA and he was two hours late!!

Taken from The Liverpool Post - * Liverpool Post is still saying FR base units to rise by one to eight * MOL confirms that FR are committed to Liverpool "big time" * MOL - "We're are going to add another aircraft there [LPL] next year and two new routes and 200,000 passengers next year" * MOL -confirms FR and LPL have signed a new agreement, "We have a new growth agreement which we're very pleased with. We have a three year plan to grow from 2m to 3m passengers at Liverpool" * MOL on inbound traffic, "The great thing about Liverpool in recent years is that it has become a much more attractive destination in its own right. “We used to do lots of flights out of Liverpool to the Canaries and to the sun- spots in Spain and Italy. Now we have seen much bigger growth in inbound traffic coming back into Liverpool as the city regenerates, redevelops and becomes a business centre." www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/ldpbusiness/business-local/2012/11/08/liverpool-john-lennon-airport-poised-for-return-to-growth-99623-32187073/2/

Most Ryanair services for next summer have now been loaded. There is one less flight on a number of routes during April. I have yet to check later in the year. As usual, the fares when first loaded are rather high. The weekend Dublin service has two departures before 7am and two after 9pm, with none inbetween. The weekday morning Dublin flights revert to Dublin based aircraft again.

Welcome to making your first post on nwan, 'Beco 915'.
The discrepancy between the current based aircraft level and that stated by the PR department of Ryanair has been alluded to on a couple of earlier posts in this section, inparticular post # 26 by LPL. As suggested by someone earlier, it could be that there are more announcements to follow - or it could be the route development and PR departments putting +1 on an out of date figure. Time will tell.
While I'm posting on this section, rather than make two posts tonight, will take the opportunity here to make some further comment on Ryanair's selection of Lublin as a new route from Liverpool JLA from 1st April '13.
There is a two-page spead in the Nov/Dec issue of 'Airports of the world' magazine outlining the development of the airport. Lublin (LUZ) in eastern Poland is a new civil airport, with brand new passenger facilities. Airport openned on 10th November. Scheduled services from 17.12.12 Ryanair op 3 x weekly to both Dublin and Stansted; Wizzair 2 x weekly to both Oslo and London from 18.12.12. Lublin city has a population of 2.2m and is 109 miles/175km SE of Warsaw, on a crossroads of transport links between Warsaw, Rzeszow and Lviv (Ukraine). Knowing this makes the choice of Lublin for a new route from Liverpool much more understandable - indeed an exciting prospect as a totally new destination airport.
Lublin initially has an apron with 7 parking stands for B.737/A.320 sized aircraft, with 6 passenger gates. Runway 8,268ft (2,500m), with Cat.1 ILS. 300,000 passengers is the aim in first year of operation, rising to 3.5mppa after 2015.
Silly question time, is the city pronounced Lub-lin (as in Dublin) or Loo-blin (as a in Lubeck)?

After a quick browse through the peak summer schedules for August S13 reveals all have yet to be uploaded.
For example there are no flights to Kos, Kaunas, Olso Rygge, Rhodes, Shannon, Vilnius and Warsaw Modlin.
Also looking at Friday schedules reveals there are seven first wave departures and five last wave arrivals.

I have interpreted the anouncement as one extra aircraft compared to last year, for 2013 that means seven based aircraft. The statement talks about a 50% increase 2012 to 2015 that should mean 9 aircraft for 2015, so we could perhaps hope for 8 for 2014. The press release informs us that Kos and Corfu will restart 31/03 and 01/04, so hopefully will be loaded soon. Hopefully Shannon will reappear when the airline has reached agreement with that airport. Rygge appears to be a winter only service. Kaunas is no longer listed under Lithuania from Liverpool so appears to have been replaced by Vilnius. It appears that the only sevices due to the seventh aircraft loaded so far are the two new routes for 2013. Vilnius and Warsaw were not operated last year and have to be slotted into the schedule along with extra flights on the routes that are to get more flights. Currently, flights by non-based aircraft for 2013 are the same as 2012.

Michael O'Leary, CEO of Ryanair, appeared yesterday with other airline representatives before MP's on the House of Commons Transport Committee. The committee was looking into congestion at the main airports in the London area & lack of slots at commercially viable times.
Giving oral evidence he was critical of the way those airports were run. He said that by comparison NW England was now an example of how things should be done, saying "Liverpool Airport was now one of the best run airports in the UK". He added that MAN had also much improved on the back of the changes seen at LPL.
Hopefully he will remember these comments when new routes are considered.
