Wizz Air Malta currently operates 30 aircraft but is planning a fleet of 78 aircraft for Summer 2023 with a mixture of transfers from the parent company and new deliveries. What has this got to do with Liverpool ?

Their aircraft have started operating through Liverpool so a useful point of interest and intelligence.

While to me it means a great deal of confusion and effort. For me tracing first visits to Liverpool by each Wizz Air aircraft now becomes a nightmare, following on from Ryanair's neatly organised Irish fleet re-registered in both Poland and Malta, Lauda's fleet completely registered in Malta before all the aircraft had appeared at JLA and the move of aircraft to EasyJet Europe from the UK register. I was previously unware of the extent and scope of the Wizz Air fleet re-registering and thought is was just a handful of aircraft affected.
As Admin I am proud that we cover (and do so very well) a wide spectrum of aviation activity around the North West and beyond: individual aircraft, airline activity, routes, statistics, flying clubs and residents, movement reports, airport history/nostalgia, visit reports from around the UK, Europe and world wide and a great deal more.
If some of the information is not of interest to you, just move directly on to the following posts. As the meercat says "simples". What is not of interest to some, is necessary information for others. Narrow minded thinking, even though politely expressed, is not a really appreciated interruption to the flow of well informed, diverse information.
As Admin I am delighted that we continue to be a very active Forum, with the aim of exchanging information and thank all those that contribute frequently or occasionally towards that aim.
Rant and topic ended. Hopefully to return this thread to matters of Wizz Airline and route news.

SeanM1997 on twitter reports that Wizz will now sell a ticket from LPL to Abu Dhabi AUH (amongst other origins). However it requires a stopover in Budapest.
I looked at 2 April and 18 April. The stopovers were 33h15m and 44h10m

Rumour is that in a couple of years Wizz air are looking at open a base at LPL. They said with the many new aircrafts on order they want to expand and grow WIZZ UK and WIZZ Abu Dhabi.

It would be good to have a 3rd force at Liverpool

I see that Wizzair is to offer Abu Dhabi as an option from Liverpool, one stop via Budapest from the end of April. I can’t see there being huge demand as whilst in the region of £250 return, you have to re- check your bags at Budapest and the overall journey time is in excess of 24 hours!

Wizzair Abu Dhabi have been advertising connections to Pakistan, so maybe that might appeal to the Pakistani comunity in this part of the world.

I think a direct service by Wizz would do well.

The Wizz Air Malta Flight Prefix (W4) will be applied to all flights to and from Romania from 25th April 2023, including Liverpool to Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca and Iasi.

I see that in addition to the ‘connection’ to Abu Dhabi, Wizz is now showing connections to Jeddah via Bucharest.

Wizz air to cut the Varna route from September ( a very well performing route)
And cluj is now summer seasonal only. Hopefully Wizz air can come and add a few new routes maybe 1 or two as they perform very well from Liverpool.
