When I worked at MAN during the time the operated their flt.security was tight, everyone involved with that flt was searched,id's checked by EL AL security,it was the same in the baggage hall very strict and the aircraft was followed by airport police 🚓🚨, should be interesting when it arrives and departs.

for the same reasons listed above EL AL always used Leeds Bradford for diversions during the many strikes at Manchester as it had been checked out and approved for divs by EL AL security.

Yes, there will have to be some significant prep and rehearsal prior to that flight, I suspect. I had the same experience with the Jet 2 TLV at MAN and the EL AL TLV flight at LTN.

I see from.the BBC news this evening, the BBC have decided to campaign against football reams flying to and from matches. I must say I have always had some reservations about this practise but assume it makes good sense either from an economical standpoint or one of making sure the players arrive in top form. ( Which still actually relates to money.)

Imagine spending hours and hours on a coach...
Of all the things for the BBC to challenge in the UK this is really frivolous

The BBC really need to be uniform about all this, how about no buses on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Liverpool to Newcastle by coach will be quite the journey and then a return too and easily a 3.5hr drive up there without traffic.

Is this the same BBC whose staff travel in business class everywhere they go? Who fly from London to Glasgow, rather than take the train? (My time is very important!). I shudder to think what horrors would be found if a bright light was shone on their expense claims.
The BBC is the last organisation on earth that should be telling people how they should travel. I have seen their profligate spending at first hand on many occasions.

I thought this was a thread on IT/Charter flights at Liverpool Airport not a pile on about the BBC touching a raw nerve because they dare to question the sustainability of domestic football-related flights?

I agree with the previous comment. And for the record BBC staff are not allowed to travel on business class, neither is the UK the only country in the world where you have to have a licence

I travelled to Moscow once with Kate Adie and her entourage and they checked in, and travelled in, business class. Anyway, Andy H has a point, and I shall say no more.
