Hi all, I wasn’t sure which thread to pose this question as I couldn’t see a specific Biz Jet related thread.
For me it’s great to see the amount of German registered jets that come into Liverpool as I’m not sure if any airport outside of London get this amount so regularly. And there seems to have been an increase since Covid. They provide a nice variety of traffic.
But why do we get so many? Is it historic, always happened and is linked to certain industries around the North West? Or do they operate on a “fraction” type of hire and are also just coming in to get pax to go where they please and they provide a good service?
I know that biz movements can be a controversial subject and I’m not looking for specifics (companies/owners). It’s just that we seem to have quite a lot considering we have no scheduled flights to the business areas of Germany.

They may not be Germany related. We only know they are German registered. We rarely see on this forum where they are from/to. Could be anywhere in Europe or the world forthat matter. We just have to be grateful for the.traffic to keep the airport running. We have lost a few potential football related customers after last weekends relegation deciders. Norwich, Watford and I think Bournemouth to name but three.

They do come from Germany, on the whole.
Did they occur so frequently in the early 80’s during your time at the airport Dalten1? That would at least provide some useful information as that would indicate a marked increase.

I too find the Biz-jets interesting and some of the machines are beautiful of course.

Reported over the last couple of days that the Airport has been offered a £34m loan by Liverpool City Region Combined Authority to help it deal with the impacts of coronavirus on the business.
Terms of the loan haven’t been revealed including when it has to be paid back.

All gates at Ryanair end have been refurbished with new carpet and seating in places. The Frankie and Bennys outlet opens today and will be giving 50% off on Mon-Wed as per Government incentive. We still have several Ezy aircraft parked up as we are one of three bases where maintenance engineering is carried out, some are 'mothballed' until such time when needed. Hope nothing comes of the 'second wave' because we need as many routes as possible restored to make it worth while.

As an Easyjet Liverpool PSA i am not at all hopeful for the winter , our duty manager said they will be lucky if Easyjet is running around 15 routes from Nov to late March on a VERY reduced timetable. and i hope i can keep my job too, but it’s so hard to predict how the winter will go.
Venice is not running after beginning of sep, don’t think it’s re starting till next summer now a lot of the routes for the winter, that would of been daily before are now like max 2-3 times weekly, it’s gunna be a very quiet winter.

Looks like some (positive) changes to bus services from 30th August. The 500 becomes an airport - Liverpool City Centre operation, every 30 minutes from 4am - midnight. The Airport - Halton service reverts to the 82A operating Liverpool airport-Runcorn and vice versa every 30 minutes.

Yes, the 500 will stop in Great Charlotte Street to serve Lime Street Station and will become Limited stop again. It will no longer serve South Parkway.
Also the All night 86A service will not be re-introduced meaning the service is no longer 24 hours.
