Not a fan of the arrangement of the arrivals area were the black cabs are. Wonder Could they put a snake queue out the side door by the WHSmith so they form an orderly queue Also need to walk through the smokers who are waiting for black cans in order to get to the free pick up / drop off

I have noticed the raise a rabble Liverpool echo has highlighted the increase in charges at the express drop-off. Many of the replies were incorrect and just offensive. Yet when I submitted some factual content within the replies the echo found the need to delete it. Obviously it didn't meet their need for sensationalism over fact. I submitted another reply but no doubt that will be deleted as well. Since the death of the Daily Post we no longer have a supportive press (or any media come to that), although I have long given up on the rag for its downmarket approach.

Its a rubbish paper these days, haven't bought it for years, as you say loves the sensational headlines, which are generally ' nothing' articles.

Notice that the airport is undertaking runway maintenance for the next two nights after the last movement. According to its Facebook page the work includes removing excess rubber (presumably in the touch down zones) to improve grip and drainage.

In Liverpool Business News they have mentioned that they believe the first freeport site on Merseyside is likely to be Liverpool Airport. There is no further information as to what this may entail.

Stands 1-10 are undergoing major works s complete redesign of the stands so they can accommodate larger aircrafts etc be able to take more 737 max aircrafts also the airside roads are been moved
If it’s worth noting as well the airport recently attended a semainr called routes where they go to discuss business and development to gain new routes and airlines and Wizz air UK are looking to expand so watch this space in the next year or two.

He doesnt explain the sudden need after all there has been at least 13 overnight 737s/A319s/A320s compared to the current 9.

There was quite an extensive discussion about this back in August. I doubt it is sudden or last minute, rather a long-planned response to the introduction to service of the 737 Max by one of the airport’s principal operators.

I think re-marking the stands in the winter period has been mentioned on here before. The 737-800 has wingspan of 34m and the MAX 8 35.9m. Presumably we will see increasing visits by Ryanair MAX 8s so hence the need to re-mark and redefine the stands, certainly width wise if nothing else. Nice to know operations are on the ball.

Sorry yes I shall explain… Only 2 stand can currently accept the max which is stand 1 and stand 8 However if you want to put the max on stand 4 for example stands 5 and 3 need to be kept clear , and by having a max on 8 stand 7 needs to be kept clear, so all the stands are been redesigned so all the stands 1-10 can take the max. Hope that makes sense
