Yes. Here is the clip on BBC website:- www.bbc.com/news/business-53239256Is it a lucky escape for Liverpool? Perhaps Liverpool is a good profit centre or maybe the void created for a competitor, even in this climate, might be too great a risk.

I would think LPL is a nice little earner for EZY, and the catchment area is the same as Manchester, which is a wide area.

I have a conspiracy theory regarding these base closures which involves BA, BA Cityjet and Jet2 as well as easyJet.
BA will operate out of LHR and LCY(BA Cityjet) and leave LGW to easyJet. Some of BA's sun routes ex Gatwick will operate from LHR.(This is already happening) easyJet on their part, as announced, close the base at and withdraw from STN, leaving that to Jet2. easyJet continue operations from LTN, so have a base north of London. Jet2 benefit by easyJet closing their base at Newcastle.
As for easyJet closing SEN, BA Cityjet increase services from LCY, leaving SEN to Ryanair.

Not quite, 35% of all crew at LPL are now planned to be made redundant (subject to consultation). No idea how many aircraft the airline are planning for Liverpool with the new proposed level of crew.

Easyjet was said to have currently 11 bases in the UK, with 163 aircraft.
Anyone know what EZY UK based aircraft per airport was meant to have been pre the current hiatus?
I will start it off: LPL was 8 based. NCL was 3 based. SEN was 5 based. STN was 7 based.

With the above and what I found this is the best I can do so far: BFS 7 BRS 17 EDI 8 LGW ? GLA 4 LPL 8 LTN ? MAN 19 NCL 3 SEN 5 STN 7

LTN was 24 based.
MAN was technically 17 based as 2 of the 19 were due to be wet lease, but those aircraft never arrived due to the covid situation.

Next summers flights are now bookable.
It looks like EZY have dropped the routes to Berlin, Nantes, Naples and Palermo.
