Razor wire - nice. Why not go all the way and electrify it !
Realistically this was bound to happen. Its the end of unobstructed views, a blow to photography, which may necessitate a step ladder from B&Q for those special "over the fence" pics !
Which asks the question - where do we actually stand (pardon the pun) with regard to step ladders for photing over the fence ?

About 4 rungs up, normally Seriously though, my steps live in the trunk of my car. Never had any real hassle at UK airports/airbases apart from Stansted where they get a bit tetchy if you're up against the fence. GC

I was told by a UKAEA policeman that at all Government sites the fences are erected 1 metre inside the boundary of the site so that they can move people on who are standing next to the fence as they are tresspassing on private land. Whether this still applies I don't know but it shows they are in their rights to move you on next to the fence if it does.

Razor / barbed wire on top of the fence is part of the spec required by the CAA. It's already in Place around the other three sides of the airport boundary.

I took this photo to-day from the hump on the mound to see if the camera would clear the fence. It does at the moment but when the mound is reduced it will be a different matter. Regards Beemer.
