Seems like there is discontent on the GA - received this recently -
Liverpool Airport Pilots Association To be formed to represent and promote the interests and activities of private aircraft operators and flying training organisations at Liverpool John Lennon Airport. Organisation An informal independent non profit making group with elected volunteer officers and free membership Aims To actively recruit association members from the trainee, qualified and lapsed pilots currently operating from LJLA and in other parts of the UK. To keep all members informed of any developments affecting aviation at LJLA and in particular those affecting activities of General Aviation operators. To actively promote LJLA as a major general aviation centre in the North West. To support any activity intended to increase the private GA activity at LJLA. Current objectives: To ensure that the dispensing of aviation fuel on the GA apron at LJLA continues at competitive prices from multiple suppliers. To promote and support the future construction of a fixed fuel dispensing installation on the GA apron at LJLA. Possible future objectives? To attract more visiting private GA aircraft to Liverpool first by lobbying for reduced visitor landing fees and handling charges and provision of fuel at competitive prices.

I presume this has been created over the current fuel disputes (I believe all fuel will now be managed by ravenair and the price will go up significantly)

I believe that to be true.
The pilot I was talking to said it could lead to half the GA vacating as well as making LPL VERY expensive to visit.

It would see that GA at Liverpool have been benefitting from a discount recently, and the new price of AvGas puts it back to what one might expect. See forums.flyer.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=78830This list of Avgas prices at various airports may be of interest to you; forums.flyer.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=51535If anyone becomes aware of this new group definitely forming, please could they post a contact. The cost of landing and handling for my Cherokee at Liverpool has become prohibitive, so I rarely fly up from Shoreham now. Anything that can be done to stop GA leaving the airfield should be done. Whilst Liverpool is busy with commercial operations at some points during the day, there are plenty of gaps, and ATC are very good indeed dealing with the mix of Airbuses and students. To encourage ad hoc visitors will not be easy. The airport will want its full landing fee, so Ravenair would have to offer discounted or free handling in return for a minimum uplift of fuel. They should also promote the fact that they will take you in a minibus to the main terminal so that you can use public transport. Maybe Ravenair could do a deal with a couple of hotels, whereby visitors staying there would have their aircraft parking paid by the hotel, or some other incentive. Where there's a will there's a way!

Isn`t it a sad reflection on how people treat other people in business. I have to agree with member "richardheywood" when he stated "Where there's a will there's a way!"
I am sure some of the suggestions he makes would be really interesting to GA owners wanting to visit Liverpool. With such a vibrant City which is developing with Cruise Ship visits and also festivals and Ship Regattas. Ravenair or Peel should be doing everything to encourage visitors in any aircraft wanting to use facilities at LPJL and not increasing fees so potential visitors go elsewhere or just run a mile from a superb city.

I have been talking to tenants, pilots and private operators with regards to the fuel supply and price issue. I have offered to meet anyone with a direct interest to give an overview of the facts with regards to the fuel pricing and supply situation. If you are one of those people then please get in touch with me via Ravenair Operations or this forum and we can arrange a meeting to discuss the facts. Regards Wayne Barrett, Operations Director, Ravenair & Liverpool Aviation Services.
