Day off today, last minute decision this morning to visit the National Railway Museum at York, booked on line and printed ticket off and caught the 10:32 from Garston Parkway. Train was delayed en-route, arrived around 13:00, returned on the 16:40. Called in to the chippy at the end of Western Avenue (Dunlop side) by the airport after my return for one of their battered fish - delicious. Quality time whilst there, time spent was insufficient to do the day justice, recommended. No info just pics, taken with a Canon SX40, 24mm lens was very handy in the confined area, all indoor pics were time exposures using a tripod, max 15 sec @ ISO100 f6.3. Did phone Airbus (Ken) this morning to see if he wanted to go, but he made some lame excuse about flu jab this afternoon, just didn't want to put his hand in his pocket for the rail fare (£5 - staff discount price). ;D Dave O

The 3rd photo from the end KF7 4-8-4 NO 607 has an interesting story. Its a local. It was built at the Vulcan works foundry at Vulcan Village in 1935. Operated by the Chinese, then captured by the Japanese and recovered by the Chinese and ran for many years before being donated to the museum. Its a beast. Your photos are far better than mine, I only had my point and shoot digital with me when I was there recently. Looks like they have moved quite a few of the trains around. I was only there at the end of October.
