Hi steve, ;D Les McStraw the last time i met up with Gary was over a year ago still living & working down south. He does a bit of gliding now he has his own glider or a share in ownership of one. John Till met up with him a few months ago and went up with him, John is now working at Luton Airport for a Private Jet Company the name escapes me. Regards Les

While I appreciate this subject has been covered before the original was lost when the Forum went down. It is a photo of us MAS members going on a jolly to the Biggin Hill air show on 16-05-1982 in Dan-Air 748 G-BHCJ. It was scanned a long time ago from the back page of "EGGP". Biggin Hill Trip by G-BHCJ June 1982 Some of the members mentioned above will be present on the photograph including myself in the white coat just under the nose. Regards Beemer.

Hi Guys,
I used to compile the NW section for Flypast & NWAN until family came along. I know Trevor Green moved to the Wirral and assume that he still works for Liverpool Council.
Last time I saw Gary he had moved to somwhere near to Alconbury.
Whatever happened to the overflights editor, John Coghill?
The good old days.
Cheers
Griff

To reply to Ron's query about brothers, the only two I can recall were the brothers Gray from St Helens way. The younger one was, I think, Robin and he went off to join the RAF c.1961 and was last heard of in Libya. Can't recall the forename of the elder but he was a member of the 1961 minibus tour of South Wales and SW England. I recall he was notable for his quaint pronunciation of Beaulieu where we went to see the Spitfire 16 which Lord Montague then had on display at the big house. ( came out as something like - Bow - le - Oh! well, why known?) I doubt however if either had any contact with the Beatles and in any case they were just a bit outside of that era so they might not be the guys Ron is thinking of.
If Ron will get in touch with me I have some pics he might enjoy from the Valley 1968 flight.
Regarding Garstonboy's reference to the two Pritchards, I had over looked them but they are still around; however more interested in steam trains these days and Alan is often seen at the Llangollen railway. I will mention it to him when he next appears - probably at the big steam gala due 18-26 April - plug. go to Llangollen Railway website for more details.

Hi George, "Robin" and "Gray", seem to ring very loud bells. I will send PM regarding photos of the valley flight. Ron

I recall returning to the old airport after a club trip very early 60`s to probably Farnborough and finding that the local bus services had all long finished for the night, so unable to get back to Wirral my friend and I were forced to sleep on the leather sofa seats in the corridor near the old met office if anyone remembers those areas, until the bus service resumed the next morning.

;D Slept there myself after loading papers all night--until moved on by that ginger haired airport policeman who did not like spotters. A long walk back to StHelens--good job it was Summer. Ron usually got me home but he had not worked that night. Saw the dawn come up over Whiston and got the first bus home from the top of Dragon Lane. Talk about fit.LOL Did anyone else get it in the ear from PC ginger? He had a decent mate who was the dog handler --at least you could have a conversation with him-provided you did not offer to stroke the dog.LOL
