The Lanc is actually at Durham Tees Valley. The Pantons at East Kirkby are lending the Canadians an airworthy Merlin which will be fitted over the weekend, hopefully in time for the planned 3 Lancaster event at East Kirkby on Tuesday

As well as the Canadian Lancaster displaying, they also have XH558 displaying on the saturday, I wonder if the display times will coincide with each other and get a flypast of some sorts?
Also confirmed is the Canberra for the sunday.

Are tickets required for the Southport Airshow please? I thought it was a free to view Airshow, but the visit Southport website is selling two grades of tickets. Do you need tickets to get down to the attractions on the beach maybe?
Thanks

It is around 10 years since they first charged pedestrians to enter the 'show village' on the Prom and beach, view the fly-in aircraft on the beach, and use a long section of central Prom. Car parking is an additional charge. As a photographer and a spotter with an interest in registrations, I have always 'paid up' and entered the central zone. Although rather than pay for car parking and face traffic jams,I usually use Merseyrail and hike the 10 minutes down to the beach.
There must be views from both north and south of the pay enclosure - but I have no personal experience of the view possible at Blackpool away from 'crowd centre'.
This is the first year that I am planning either to go to Southport on both days, or Blackpool one day and Southport the other. Now all we need the certainty of some decent weather!
