Busiest flight outbound LPL is 1038 on a fairly consistent basis. 1034, which SHOULD be busy, often has fairly low loads. Obviously it competes with the first Easyjet flight to AMS, so I assume that the local businessmen travelling to AMS tend to fly Easyjet. However, it also connects with a major bank of flights from AMS, and I would have thought that connecting passengers alone would provide very decent loads. 1042 is getting more and more respectable loads.
Inbound, 1037 connects with many inbound transcontinental flights, as well as carrying Dutch businessmen inbound. Booked loads are often fairly respectable, but actual loads are often less due late inbound flights (and I assume KLM will then send the misconnected passengers on the first available connection to the northwest, which would be to MAN.) 1041 loads tend to be fairly low and 1045 loads are picking up.
Sunday afternoon / Monday mornings have decent loads in both directions, as do Friday afternoons - midweek often leaves a lot to be desired. Saturday afternoons / evenings again are lightly loaded. Hardly surprising for any of these as the normal travel flows on just about any route. The Tues/Wed cancellations of 1041/1042 are probably justified, especially in the current economic climate. I would expect 1042/1045 to be whacked on Saturdays as well as perhaps 1034/1037 on Sundays Oct/Nov onwards. I hope that they do not go ahead and cancel 1041 and 1042 from January onwards through March as shown in their timetable, especially seeing how 1042 loads are improving. Obviously there will be many changes to proposed timetables between now and then.
I am still surprised that they began this flight when they did, with the global economic downturn in full swing. I just hope that it continues to be operated long term. Easyjet look like they are not going to abandon the route, and it would be interesting to see how their loads are now. I suspect that Easyjet have most of the LPL originating point-to-point passengers, whereas KLM have the majority of the AMS originating passengers, particularly businessmen.

Thanks for the up-date...... Hope its does work, if it doesnt I beleive Liverpool will not get another operator offering onward long haul connections again, so this link by KLM is probably one of the most important the airport has had in years.

Doh !! Bit remiss of KLM not to have Liverpool systemwide though :-( The individual worldwide KLM sites all have 'their own' cities listed. eg UK - all the British cities KLM fly to, likewise France, likewise Germany and likewise Spain.

I've just been looking at the KLM site (and yes, the GB site) and Primavista is correct - Liverpool does not currently appear in the online timetable!!! Come on KLM, get your act together!!!

This, as the link suggests, this is the default site for KLM bookings from the UK. www.klm.com/travel/gb_en/index_default.htmlNot only is LPL shown on the list, but there is a thumbnail offering special rates from LPL. Travelled outward on KL 1034 last Tues (18th). Six in business, about 25 in Y. Returned Sunday 23rd on KL 1045. One in business, about 50 in the back.

Rumour has it that KLM are not happy with loads and all that has happened is that the route from LPL has simply taken people off it's MAN flights.
Seat numbers are being retained at MAN, despite dropping a flight, by using all 737s for flights.
LPL's days could be numbered.

Well that would be a shame. I myself have used them several times to travel from Cologne to Liverpool (indeed I have another flight booked this Thursday).
I use this flight as an alternative to TUIFly to Manchester (which itself is coming to an end). If KLM were to drop the Liverpool connection in the belief that all travellers would transfer to Manchester then I'm afraid I would not be one of them. I'd rather do Flybe from Frankfurt to Manchester direct.
The only reason I fly KLM is because it flies me to my (final) airport of choice.

Noticed that the Liverpool flight can be booked right up until the end of July next year.
The same with MAN flights which at that time seat numbers fall back with three Fokker 70, two 737 and 1 Embraer 190 rotations per day.

I think KLM would have been fully aware that their LPL service would impact on MAN services and were prepared to accept that. The timetable changes at MAN for S10 are probably a reflection of that.
